Schools Sport Summit

At what age should kids specialise in one sport? Should school sport be compulsory? How do we transfer elite coaching methodology into applicable scenarios for our schools? And how do we traverse the South African sports development context to develop talent?

The third annual Sports Science Institute of South Africa’s (SSISA) Schools Sport Summit provides the platform for all stakeholders within the schools’ sports landscape to discuss these and other pressing issues. Our line-up boasts industry experts who will provide insight into scientific and practical best practice models. We aim to stimulate debate in an effort to inspire attendees to grow and enhance schools’ sport and promote health in schools via increased physical activity.

The 2017 SSISA Schools’ Sport Summit will take place from the 24 to 25 March 2017 at Sandringham Farm, Stellenbosch, Cape Town, the venue for the 2017 Cape Argus Sport Show.  This affords delegates an opportunity to experience Africa’s biggest sports and lifestyle exhibition, as part of the conference package.

If you are an educator, head of sports, a coach, parent, sports co-ordinator, Phys-Ed teacher or are involved in school sports in any capacity, join us, and learn from us and from each other.
